DUBLIN, Ireland: The latest AA fuel survey reveals a significant decrease in petrol and diesel prices across Ireland. Petrol prices have fallen by seven cents, bringing the average cost to 1.74 euros per liter.

Similarly, diesel prices have dropped by seven cents to an average of 1.67 euros per liter.

The survey also highlights a decline in running electric vehicles (EVs) costs. On average, EV owners can now expect to pay 857.77 euros per year to cover 17,000 km, which is the national average. This represents a monthly savings of 58 euros.

Jennifer Kilduff, Head of Marketing & PR for AA Ireland, commented on the positive trend for drivers. "It's a good month for all motorists this September. Petrol and diesel prices have decreased, possibly due to falling crude oil prices. EV drivers are also benefiting, with average charging costs reducing."

She added that further reductions are expected, with Electric Ireland planning to cut rates from November 1. "Hopefully, these small wins won't be offset by any budget measures," Kilduff said.
